First light
“First light" in astronomy refers to the first use of a telescope (or, more generally, a new instrument) to capture an astronomical image after its construction.
In this work, the expression shifts to the earthly, everyday scale of the Po Delta. Light enters rooms, filters through curtains, brushes against façades — revealing traces of intimacy and memory in domestic and collective spaces.
It is in these atmospheres that recognition emerges: the light of a specific place awakens the memory of something else, as if the singular could open onto the universal, allowing anyone to find a sense of familiarity within it.
